Indian Vedic Astrology considers Nakshatra (in which we are born) to be an important aspect of our lives. Nakshatra indicates our attitude, even our physical appearance and our future. It is said in our Vedas that Nakshatra puja is very important in our lives. Maha Mrityunjaya Homam

 

All the scriptures declare the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra as the best one for health and longevity. After Shiva Pooja Rudram is recited and then the repeated Recital of the great Maha Mrutyajaya mantra (also called Maha Mrityunjaya) is done and then Homa is performed reciting the mantra (1/10 times of recital number). The higher the number the more is the benefit.
